Connochaetes taurinus

The blue wildebeest, also called the common wildebeest,white-bearded wildebeest, orbrindled gnu, is a large antelopeand one of the two species of wildebeests. It has a close taxonomic relationship with the black wildebeest.

Male blue wildebeest are generally  larger and darker than the females. A characteristic feature is the long, black tail, which is around 60–100 cm (24–39 in) in length.
